New T-Mobile ‘Ranger’ brings an end to network problems at events

This T-Mobile mast increases capacity by 500%!

Ranger 2.0

During the Jumbo Race Days on 18 and 19 May 2019, T-Mobile customers benefited from the deployment of the new Ranger from T-Mobile. The placing of this mast has increased the capacity of the mobile network by up to 500%. Not only does this enable more people to use the network, but also with higher internet speeds. T-Mobile is the first provider to deploy this concept at events.

The Jumbo Race Days attracts more than 100,000 visitors to a relatively small area. This can create problems for the mobile network. The T-Mobile Ranger eliminates these problems and even makes it possible to live stream during the event.

The Ranger uses the latest antenna technology that will also be used for 5G. This makes the Ranger “5G Ready” and the mast is able to deliver 5 to 6 times the capacity of a standard mobile mast. This ensures that T-Mobile is prepared for the arrival of 5G and the rapidly growing data stream.

“To deliver our promise of 5G nationwide in 2020, we are ensuring that our network is ready. This will let us roll out the national 5G network after the auction of the 700 MHz band. Thanks to the deployment of the Ranger, our customers are already benefiting from an enormous increase in capacity. And that will be even better next year, when during the Grand Prix, they will benefit from a T-Mobile network that is ready for the future!” according to Johan van den Branden, Network Director.
